**IMPORTANT** - if you have interest in campaigning to be a national delegate, allowing you to play a part in the Democratic Party's national convention scheduled for September in Charlotte, you must begin the process by being a county delegate, and then state delegate. That means attending the March 3 Precinct Reorganization Meeting is a required first step.

County Party Delegates meet to elect new officers to the positions of Party Chair, 1st Vice Chair (different ethnicity of the chair), 2nd Vice Chair (opposite sex of the chair), 3rd Vice Chair (under 30 years of age), and county party representatives to the state party executive committee (one male, one female and two alternates). We will also elect our state delegates, who get to attend the state party convention (which is where the elections for national delegates takes place). Please note that state delegates get elected to two-year terms.
State Party Convention - May 12 (time to be announced) at the Convention Center in Columbia
All of our county's State Delegates get to attend the annual South Carolina Democratic Party convention, where elections for national delegates take place. A new state party platform also gets reviewed and voted on for approval.

Voter Registration
You can help us win in 2012 now - by registering new voters in your area. Now through the 2012 registration deadline, volunteers will be setting up registration tables and giving people all the information and forms they need to register to vote. We'll post information for registration drives as we know about them; please let us know, too, if you are planning on registering voters and if there's anything we can do to help you. This is an easy way to get involved. If you'd like to start registering voters from your park, mall, church, favorite barber shop, etc., go here for printable materials and information.
